Emmanuel Myam, also known as Emmiwuks, an ardent supporter of the renowned musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has emphasized that he will remain undeterred even if he doesn’t have the chance to meet the singer, despite his remarkable journey cycling for 15 days from Benue State to Lagos.
After his arduous journey, Emmiwuks arrived in Lagos on Friday, August 18, 2023, and was warmly welcomed by the Tiv community in the state.
While on the journey, Davido advised him to turn back since he was unavailable at the moment, yet he promised to send a monetary contribution to him. Despite this, Emmiwuks persisted and did not turn back. In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he affirmed that he would not be disheartened if he did not eventually meet Davido. In a contrary move to expectations, he revealed that he did not provide his account number to the singer.
Emmiwuks expressed, “I will not be discouraged if I don’t eventually meet Davido. I will take it that is the way God planned it to happen. I will take it with faith.”
When queried about his profound admiration for Davido, he replied, “I just like him. He is doing well in the music industry, and he has been helpful to the youth. I also like other artistes such as Olamide, Don Jazzy and Wizkid; but I feel specially about Davido. He is more like an angel on earth.”
Addressing some challenges encountered during his expedition, Emmiwuks mentioned, “One of the challenges I faced was sharing the road with trucks on the highway. The drivers of those trucks did not take it easy with me. Some even pushed me off the road while trying to overtake them. There was also a day my bicycle had a fault”
He recounted sleeping at gas stations multiple times. However, he shared that he was occasionally assisted by fellow Davido fans who covered his accommodation expenses.
