The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, has successfully obtained a six-month jail term conviction for Kolajo Damilare, who was found guilty of stealing household items from Razaq Salaudeen in Abeokuta.
Commandant David Ojelabi confirmed the conviction, noting that Damilare was apprehended on November 15, 2023, around 11 a.m. by NSCDC officers during a routine patrol in the Bode Olude area.

After thorough interrogation, Damilare admitted to stealing a refrigerator, stabilizer, and security light from Salaudeen’s property. The NSCDC, acting on its fiat power, promptly arraigned Damilare before an Isabo Magistrate Court on a one-count charge of stealing. The accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months in prison with an option of a N150,000 fine.
The NSCDC, empowered by a fiat from the Attorney General of Ogun State, presented exhibits and facts to support the case at the Abeokuta Magistrate Court 1 on November 17, 2023. The arraigned suspect maintained his guilty plea, and Magistrate E. O Idowu handed down the six-month imprisonment sentence or a fine of N150,000.
