Tajudeen Baruwa, who asserts his role as National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has alleged that a top government official may be backing Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) to retain his position despite a recent appeal court ruling against him. In an interview, Baruwa mentioned hearing rumors of support for MC Oluomo from a high-ranking official but clarified he had no direct confirmation of government involvement.
Baruwa explained that the legal process takes time and stated he is following due process to ensure his reinstatement. He added that neither he nor MC Oluomo is above the law and expects compliance with the court’s ruling in due time.
Addressing concerns over MC Oluomo’s ties to President Bola Tinubu, Baruwa dismissed any influence, noting that he, like many others, considers himself loyal to President Tinubu as a fellow Yoruba and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He emphasized that loyalty to Tinubu extends to all Nigerians, not just MC Oluomo.
