Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says Nigerians should not be suffering because God has already blessed the country with everything it needs to succeed. Speaking at a dinner in his honour at the Abia State Government House in Umuahia, Obasanjo said the problem is not with God but with bad leadership. According to him, if Nigeria’s leaders used the country’s resources properly, the people would not be living in poverty.
Obasanjo praised Governor Alex Otti for the good work he is doing in Abia State and said he supports any leader who brings real change to the lives of the people. He added that he doesn’t care about personal greetings or politics—what matters most to him is that Nigerians get the good governance they deserve.

Governor Otti, who also spoke at the event, recalled how he faced many challenges since 2015 but remained focused because of his strong vision and faith. Former Minister Rotimi Amaechi was also present and called on Abia people to continue supporting Governor Otti for a stronger 2027 and beyond.
