A former Commissioner in Edo State, Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor, has expressed deep regret over supporting all Labour Party (LP) candidates during the 2023 general elections. He said many people, including himself, voted blindly for anyone under the LP platform just because of Peter Obi — a decision he now calls a big mistake.
Speaking on social media, Ifaluyi-Isibor, who is a top member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said most voters didn’t even know the LP candidates they voted for. According to him, many of these candidates failed to perform after being elected, proving that they were no better than the politicians from PDP and APC. He said people assumed LP candidates would be different, but that belief has now backfired badly.

He praised Peter Obi personally but blamed him for not keeping the party strong after the elections. “Vultures used his name to shine,” he said. He added that by 2027, people in Edo South will be wiser and will vote based on individual quality, not party name.
