Ogun State Students Seek More Bursaries & Scholarships

The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has called upon Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to increase support for indigent students by enhancing the payment of bursaries and scholarships. The student body made this appeal during its National Convention, where new officials were elected to lead the association.

The NAOSS National Convention took place at the Nigeria Labour Congress Secretariat in Leme, Abeokuta, from October 6th to 7th, 2023. The event provided an opportunity for Ogun State students studying in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria to discuss and analyze critical issues affecting them. During the convention, new national officials for NAOSS were elected.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the convention and made available to the public, the student body expressed its appreciation to Governor Abiodun for his victory at the Ogun State Governorship Tribunal and commended him for the progress made during his tenure.

The outgoing president of NAOSS National, Comrade Ogunrobi Gbemileke, was acknowledged for his service, and the Senate of NAOSS thanked the entire Ogun indigenous student community for their trust and support.

While recognizing the achievements of the governor, NAOSS called on him to increase the payment of bursaries and scholarships to support indigent students in the state.

The convention also commended Comrade Adeyemi Azeez, a prominent leader, for his support in ensuring the successful conduct of the convention and applauded the National Labour Congress for hosting Ogun indigenous students from across the country during the event.
