Former model Olajumoke Orisaguna, famously known as Olajumoke Onibread, recently broke her silence on why she faded from the public eye after her rapid rise to fame in 2016. Her story began when she unexpectedly walked into a photoshoot with British rapper Tinie Tempah, captured by photographer TY Bello, which instantly made her a social media sensation. However, in a recent interview with City FM, she shared that domestic violence and family issues were major factors in her withdrawal from the limelight.
Olajumoke revealed that her marital challenges with her then-husband, Sunday Orisaguna, began in Ire, Osun State, worsened by mistreatment from her mother-in-law. Even after relocating to Lagos, her husband’s alleged physical abuse continued, despite her efforts to build a career and support their two children. She admitted societal pressures kept her silent for years, but the stigma and his alleged attempts to ruin her reputation ultimately led her to speak out.
She described enduring constant monitoring, accusations, and abuse, even while she was the primary provider for the family. Olajumoke noted that her ex-husband’s actions eventually drove her to separate from him nearly four years ago. She shared that after their separation, things took a downward turn as he began to spread negative stories about her and her supporters, impacting her career and relationships with those who had once helped her.
