Ade Adetimehin, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo, has expressed gratitude for the intervention of President Bola Tinubu in resolving the political crisis in the state. In a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Adetimehin promised that the party would ensure all involved parties adhere to the commitments made during the negotiations.
As a result of President Tinubu’s intervention, it was clarified that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu remains the governor of the state, while Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains the deputy governor. The State Executive Council members will continue with their respective duties, and the leadership of the State’s House of Assembly and the APC Chapter in Ondo State will maintain the status quo.
Adetimehin, while expressing his happiness, stated, “Today is my happiest moment. And I know sanity has come to Ondo State. So, on behalf of the teeming supporters of our party in the state, we appreciate our leader, Mr. President.”
He thanked President Tinubu for resolving the political instability that plagued the state, ensuring unity and peace. Adetimehin pledged that the APC would act as a watchdog to ensure that all parties adhere to the newly agreed commitments.
In response to the negotiations led by President Tinubu, Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa pledged to involve all commissioners and officials in handling the state’s affairs. The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Oladiji Olamide, also resolved to halt all impeachment moves against Aiyedatiwa.
Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for restoring peace in Ondo state. She promised that all concerned parties would remain peaceful and stand united as a party, emphasizing that every word from the President would be taken seriously.
