Three people have been detained by the Ondo State Police Command in relation to the death of Mrs. Iyanuoluwa Adamolekun, a woman who lived in Arigidi Akoko in the state’s Akoko North-West Local Government Area.
All that was stated about the accused was Oluwaseun, Mobarak, and Rilwan. The housekeeper and mother of Mobarak is Oluwaseun.
The culprits allegedly killed retired teacher Adamolekun in her room while she slept and took away her cell phone last week. On the afternoon of that fatal day, her grandchild is said to have found her dead body.
It was learned that after following the deceased person’s phone, the police were able to apprehend one of the suspects, who then helped them apprehend the other accomplices.
According to a source, Mobarak and Rilwan, the two suspects, admitted that they climbed over the fence rather than through the main gate in order to avoid creating a disturbance.
After entering the house that afternoon, they proceeded directly to the chamber of the deceased, where she was lying on her bed following her bath. They said that they had strangled the woman while she was screaming and had broken her head with a wooden box.
The suspects were detained, according to state police public relations officer Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, who verified the information.
The PPRO said, “I can confirm their arrest and will send the details later.”
