Tragedy struck on Tuesday as a lone accident on the Abeokuta-Sagamu highway in Ogun State resulted in the loss of one life. According to reports from PUNCH Online, the incident occurred around Nestle Roundabout at approximately 9 pm.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident, revealing that it involved six individuals traveling in a Highlander SUV with the registration number JJJ721JB.

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for FRSC in Ogun State, disclosed that the crash was attributed to a combination of tire burst and speeding. She stated, “A total of six persons were involved in a crash along Sagamu-Abeokuta Road, around Nestle Roundabout, at about 2100 hrs. The six persons were all male adults; one was injured, and unfortunately, one person died from the lone crash.”
The injured individual was promptly taken to Idera Hospital for medical attention, while the deceased’s body was handed over to family members.
In response to the incident, Anthony Uga, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, urged motorists to conduct routine checks on their vehicles and promptly address any detected defects. The advice emphasizes the importance of regular vehicle maintenance to enhance road safety and prevent avoidable accidents.
