Ooni begs Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has called upon Nigerians to exercise patience and show support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration in light of the current economic challenges facing the nation.

The appeal was made by the Ooni during his visit to his family compound as part of the activities marking the grand finale of the Olojo Annual Festival in the Oketase area of Ile-Ife on Monday.

The monarch acknowledged that Nigeria is currently undergoing a trial period, characterized by numerous challenges affecting various aspects of life. He expressed empathy for the difficulties faced by the people and recognized the challenging circumstances.

“I know that people are passing through difficult periods in which they are not finding life easy, and truly, this is a challenging period,” the Ooni stated.

He went on to express his belief that, following the festival, normalcy would return to the country, and the problems being faced would eventually come to an end.

The Ooni of Ife admonished everyone to endure and provide their support to their leaders, emphasizing that such cooperation would lead to significant achievements.

“We are almost getting there, for gold has to pass through fire before becoming shining. Government alone cannot do it without the cooperation of the masses,” he said. “Therefore, let all hands be on deck, for a tree cannot make a forest, and no nation can reach its promised land without the contribution of the people.”

The Ooni’s words reflect a call for unity and collective efforts in addressing the nation’s challenges, with a message of hope and resilience amid difficult times.
