A Turkish journalist has shared an update on Victor Osimhen after the club conducted an assessment following his injury scare while on international duty with the Super Eagles.
Galatasaray has reportedly provided a fitness update on Osimhen’s condition ahead of their highly anticipated derby against Besiktas. Concerns arose after the Nigerian forward limped off during his last match of the international break.

During his time with the Super Eagles, the 26-year-old put in a tireless shift, scoring three goals across two games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. His contributions helped Nigeria secure four crucial points in Group C of the World Cup qualifiers.

As usual, Osimhen’s energy levels were relentless, but in the closing moments of the draw against Zimbabwe, he went down clutching his thigh and had to be substituted, sparking injury concerns.

Galatasaray fans watched anxiously, fearing they might lose their star striker ahead of the crucial derby. Osimhen has been instrumental in keeping Cim-Bom at the top of the league table, almost single-handedly leading their title charge. However, Yakub Cinar, a Galatasaray insider, has offered some reassuring news.

According to Cinar, via Haber Sariki Mizi, Osimhen and key defender Davinson Sanchez have both been deemed fit to play in the highly anticipated derby at Tupras Stadyum tomorrow evening.
“I have received information that Osimhen and Davinson Sanchez are fit to play in the Beşiktaş-Galatasaray derby,” Cinar stated. “However, the final decision will be made by the medical board. Yunus Akgün is also ready to play in the derby.”

Osimhen continues to spearhead Galatasaray’s quest for the league title this season. He currently leads the goal-scoring charts with 20 goals, two ahead of Istanbul Başakşehir’s Kristof Piatek, who sits in second place.
