Renowned Turkish sports commentator Adnan Aybaba has joined the growing list of admirers praising Victor Osimhen, describing the Nigerian striker as a standout performer in the Turkish Super Lig.
Since joining Galatasaray this summer, the 26-year-old Super eagles star has been in phenomenal form, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists in 15 appearances. His contributions have been instrumental in the club’s strong defence of their league title.
During a recent TV program, Aybaba highlighted Osimhen’s exceptional qualities, “Osimhen is a very different guy above our league. He always excels in aerial balls, duels and runs. He also has an athletic structure. He has directly contributed to the 9-10 points Galatasaray has received in the league this season.”
Aybaba even went as far as to compare Osimhen to Mauro Icardi, last season’s hero for Galatasaray during their championship run.
“Don’t get me wrong, Galatasaray fans, but this guy will make you forget Icardi. Sure, Icardi won hearts and made the kids Galatasaray fans, but there are also realities to this.”
“Osimhen is 26 years old, Icardi is 31 years old, there is a 5-year age difference between them. This is not a small thing. How many more years will Icardi play?”
