Victor Osimhen has addressed his milestone after historic goal for Super Eagles.
Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen has spoke out about his chances of becoming Nigeria’s all-time top scorer after equaling Segun Odegbami’s record for second place on the Super Eagles scoring scoring list.

Osimhen netted a crucial equalizer in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Benin Republic during the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, bringing his tally to 23 international goals. This achievement ties him with Odegbami and places him 14 goals behindn the iconic Rashidi Yekini, who leads the chart with 37 goals.

When asked about the possibility of surpassing Yekini’s record, the 25-year-old played down the idea saying: “No, no. I really don’t care about this. I just want to do my job, score goals, win games, and then if I equal it, I equal it. If I surpass it, I surpass it. But that doesn’t take away the fact that Rashidi Yekini is the greatest striker the Super Eagles have ever,” he added.
Osimhen’s remarks came as the Super Eagles prepare for their final qualifying match against Rwanda.
