Osun Governor Lifts Curfew

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has directed the lifting of the curfew imposed on Irepodun and Orolu Local Government Areas, effective Wednesday. The decision to lift the 24-hour curfew, imposed on October 6, was communicated in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi.

The curfew was instituted following violent clashes arising from a boundary disagreement in the affected areas, leading to loss of lives and property destruction. Governor Adeleke’s directive to lift the curfew comes after an assessment of the prevailing situation, with the government observing a return to peace and order in the affected communities.
