Adedapo Ayobami, a 24-year-old bricklayer from Oja Oba, Osogbo, Osun State, has been arrested for reportedly breaking into a herbalist’s (name withheld) home and stealing cooking utensils and electronic gadgets.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Osogbo and signed by the command spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Dr. Michael Adaralewa, provided additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest. Ayobami’s confessional statement revealed that, prior to his passing, the herbalist had gifted him a spiritual soap that was intended to elevate his financial situation.
Ayobami reportedly told the investigators that the herbalist had promised him he would be picking up the spiritual soap each month. He further said that while going to pick up the soap for may, he learned the herbalist had died.
“On Thursday, May 23, the next day, he went to the herbalist’s house, opened the door, looked in the spot where he had kept his key while he was alive, and took a few household belongings, including a plasma television, kitchen utensils, solar panel, lamps, and two separate cable decoders.
“The suspect revealed his intention to sell the stolen items to gullible members of the public.”
