Oyo/Osun Customs Rakes in N47 Billion in 9 Months

The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has reported that it collected N47.4 billion in revenue between January and September. This information was shared by the outgoing Customs Area Comptroller of the command, Babajide Jaiyeoba, during a handing-over ceremony in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Additionally, Jaiyeoba mentioned that the command had made various seizures of prohibited goods with a duty-paid value of N308 million over the past nine months. He also noted that the command had exceeded its revenue target for 2022.

In his address, the incoming Comptroller, Ben Oramalugo, emphasized the core responsibilities of customs officers, including revenue generation, trade facilitation, and the suppression of smuggling. He called on all officers to cooperate with him in upholding these mandates and achieving the command’s objectives.
