Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has renamed the RCCG Apapa Family to The Favoured Family. The announcement was made during his visit to Trinity Towers, the headquarters of RCCG City of David.
Pastor Adeboye said the name change was divinely inspired, symbolizing a fresh outpouring of grace. Using the biblical passage 2 Kings 2:19-24, he explained that “salt” represents restoration and progress, while a “new cruse” signifies a renewed beginning and spiritual revival.
The RCCG Apapa Family, established in 1991, has grown into a global network of churches. Over the years, several pastors have led its expansion, with Pastor Kayode Pitan currently heading the family following his appointment in September 2024.
