The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has sounded a strong warning to Nigerians, urging them to take fire safety seriously in the coming months. Speaking at the RCCG February Thanksgiving Service in Lagos, he emphasized the need for proactive measures, prayer, and vigilance to prevent avoidable disasters.
Pastor Adeboye reminded Nigerians that earlier prophecies had warned of fire outbreaks, storms, and floods, and recent events confirm the urgency of the message. He advised individuals, businesses, and government agencies to adopt fire prevention strategies such as careful handling of electrical appliances and avoiding bush burning, which could lead to devastating consequences. “Don’t joke with naked fire. Farmers, be cautious—don’t say I didn’t warn you,” he cautioned.
Preaching on ‘The Covenant-Keeping God,’ he highlighted that divine favor follows obedience, using RCCG’s global expansion as proof of God’s faithfulness. He dismissed claims that the church’s growth was due to personal achievements, insisting it was the fulfillment of a divine covenant. “If you keep God’s covenant, He will make you His peculiar treasure,” he assured, urging believers to stay committed to God’s instructions.
