Pastor David Musa, a preacher of the Evangelical Church Winning All, was murdered by his kidnappers in Kogi State after they obtained a N1 million ransom.
It was learned that the late Pastor Musa was assassinated on Tuesday after being kidnapped on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Obajana, which is part of Kogi State’s Lokoja Local Government Area.
When recounting the pastor’s death, a churchgoer going by the name of Mary remarked, “The pastor went to his farm that ugly day.” Thus, as she waited for him to get home, his wife didn’t see her husband. When night fell, the spouse set off the alarm, prompting churchgoers, along with locals, to go to his property and look for him.
At that point, they learned that the pastor had been abducted. The family was contacted by the kidnappers, who demanded N20 million. The family and the church begged the kidnappers to lower the ransom to N1 million because they were unable to raise the full amount of money. The abductors demanded that the church send recharge cards, chicken, and a large quantity of alcoholic beverages for them to consume when they brought the money.
Two members of the church were dispatched to provide the necessary items and money to the kidnappers.
“They found our priest still alive when they arrived at the kidnappers’ hideout. They now told our pastor and the other two churchgoers who had provided the cash to begin leaving for home.
Regretfully, when they later phoned the pastor back, he followed their instructions because he realized he couldn’t possibly escape their location given his kidnappers’ sophisticated weaponry.
“They shot at him right away as he was returning to them, and he instantly passed away. They returned to Obajana with his lifeless body later.
The entire neighborhood and church are in grief as a result of the catastrophe.
It was also discovered that the church’s social media platform was the source of the initial information about the pastor’s murder on Wednesday morning.
The brief note said, “I write to inform you that our brother, Pastor Musa David, was killed last night by his abductors after they demanded a N1 million ransom. I write this with a heavy heart, but I submit to God’s will.” During this difficult time, let us keep the DCC, the church, and the family in our prayers.
Formerly, the late David oversaw the ECWA Bishara in Ajaokuta. Panic has been increased in his flock and throughout the state as a whole by his horrific murder.
On Thursday afternoon, the event was reported by the Kogi State Police Command. The command has started an inquiry into the event, according to state Police Public Relations Officer SP William Ovye Aya, who also promised that those responsible for the homicide would be apprehended and put on trial.
