During a recent Monday Bible Study session, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, addressed his members on the topic of “The Firm Resolve of Faith by Triumphant Overcomers.” One of the subtopics he discussed was “The Righteousness and Forthrightness of Rapturable Pilgrims.” In his message, he emphasized that as pilgrims, we should be encouraged to serve the Lord and demonstrate the salvation and steadfastness bestowed upon us by God. Pastor Kumuyi highlighted the importance of facing persecution not due to carelessness but for the sake of righteousness. As righteous and regenerated individuals, regardless of the source of persecution, we should stand firm.
He read the book of Matthew 5:10, which says, “Jesus Christ said, Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”, then he sends a message to Christians facing persecution. He said, “If you stand for righteousness, they will persecute you and if you take that persecution joyfully, not frowning, and you don’t compromise, great will be your reward. We must be followers of good. You suffer because you take your stands and you will not compromise. No other king has ever threatened because they (the Hebrew brethren) didn’t worship idol, those righteous men never compromised
