The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has achieved a sweeping victory in the recent Edo State local government election, leaving no room for doubt about their dominance in the state’s political landscape. According to official results released by the State Independent Electoral Commission, the PDP secured victories in all 18 Local Government Areas, demonstrating a formidable hold on power.
In addition to the PDP, other major political parties, such as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP), also participated in the election, vying for chairmanship and councillorship positions across the wards. However, the PDP’s resounding success overshadowed their rivals, as evidenced by the results:

One notable outcome was in Ovia South West, where the PDP triumphed with significant numbers:

The total registered voters numbered 89,897, with 21,442 accredited and only 429 invalid votes.
