PDP Official Flags Wike’s Exit

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC), Timothy Osadolor, has asserted that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, is no longer a technical member of the party. Osadolor warned against taking Wike seriously, citing what he described as the minister’s tendency to “double-speak” on issues.
Speaking to Trust TV, the Peoples Democratic Party Deputy National Youth leader raised questions about Wike’s current status within the party, stating, “The truth is that Wike has technically left the PDP. When last did you see him in any PDP function?” Osadolor emphasized that Wike’s assertion of leadership within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his state reinforces the perception that he has moved on from the PDP.

“To say that Wike is no longer a member of the party, especially when he has also claimed leadership of the APC in his state, is just over-flogging what is already obvious,” Osadolor added. He urged Nigerians not to take Wike’s statements at face value, asserting, “No matter how he continues to say that he is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party , the reality on the ground and his actions state something else. I think Nigerians should not take him too seriously because the man is given to double-speaking. Wike has left the party, and that is the truth.”

The controversy surrounding Wike’s activities has heightened, particularly concerning his alleged support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 elections and his subsequent appointment as the FCT Minister. In response to perceived actions against the PDP’s interests, the party’s acting Chairman, Umar Damagum, has threatened to sanction Wike.
