The youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) encouraged President Bola Tinubu to consult former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan for advice on how to steer Nigeria ahead in the face of the country’s hardships on Saturday.
According to the youth wing, Tinubu has failed and Nigeria needs a leader who can galvanize the nation’s economy toward recovery.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari spent eight years in power blaming Jonathan and the PDP, according to a statement signed by Usman Okai Austin, National Coordinator of PDP Youths Frontier. The statement also stated that “today, Tinubu and his team are following the same pattern, blaming the APC government under Buhari.”
“We need leaders who can address the nation’s current challenges and guide us towards economic recovery and security solutions,” states Okai.
“To move the country forward, President Tinubu should seek advice from seasoned leaders like Jonathan and Obasanjo.”
He underlined how critical it is to put aside disagreements within the All Progressives Congress, or APC, in order to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians.
Okai pointed out that Tinubu’s contribution to the growth of Lagos State is exaggerated since the state profited from its advantageous position and status as the Federal Capital Territory prior to Ibrahim Babagida’s relocation of it to Abuja.
In addition, he attacked the APC for using propaganda and emphasized how the president’s economic policies have failed to solve the nation’s current problems.
The disarray among the party leadership, he continued, “shows a lack of understanding of Nigeria’s complexities.” The party’s tendency of assigning blame is reflected in the president’s perplexity.
“Nigerians are experiencing economic challenges, which are causing school dropout rates and skyrocketing costs for products and services, which is causing the Naira to weaken.
“The administration seems bewildered amid challenges in the economy and insecurity.
“Tinubu, who is regarded as the best in the APC, has struggled with economic management just like Buhari has. Instead of assigning blame, it’s time for him to own up to the shortcomings of his administration. People in Nigeria are suffering, and it’s clear that the APC is not the best choice for the nation.
