Anambra State Police Command officers apprehended two ring leaders of a cult group responsible for killings in Ihiala.
According to a press release from the State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the cultists were apprehended during a special operation led by the Police Crack Squad, which was dispatched to Ihiala by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye.
Ikenga stated that the operation was planned to guarantee security for the inhabitants of Ihiala during and after the festival season.
The jailed cultists were named as Chitana Oha, 25, alias “Kill and Bury,” and Emmanuel Ifeanyi Okonkwo, 24, alias “Good and Bad.”
Ikenga stated, “Both suspects were apprehended in their hideout in Okija, within the same Local Government Area.
“The Commissioner of Police who vowed to end the cult related killings in Ihiala same way he stamped out the menace in Awka Capital City has directed the Crack Squad to go all out against the cultists and clip their wings.”
Ikenga described the commissioner as assuring the people that their security would remain the Command’s top concern.
