Police arrest man for selling company’s car to japa

Police in Lagos State have detained a guy who sought to sell his company’s car in order to fund his family’s move to Ghana.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest to NAN on Tuesday.

According to Hundeyin, the State Criminal Investigation Department received information regarding a stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle about 1pm on January 16th.A team of detectives launched an investigation based on the information provided.

“In the course of the investigation, the said vehicle was traced and located at Ilukogun village, a boundary between Lagos State and Ogun,” added the police officer.

According to the PPRO, the automobile was recovered from Arthur Benjamin in the abovementioned village.

“The suspect was detained, and he admitted to stealing the vehicle from his workplace with the aim of selling it and fleeing to Ghana with his family.

“Investigation is still in progress for possible arrest of other members of his gang,” he told reporters.
