Police Arrest Traffickers, Cultists, and Rescue a 2-Year-Old

Two alleged child traffickers and a member of a known cult in Asaba’s Cable Area have been detained by Delta State police.
Bright Edafe, the command’s press secretary, stated in a press release that on March 8, 2023, at around 1100 hours, “the command received information from a resident of Jaret in Asaba that on February 8, 2023, her child, Ridwan Ibrahim “m,” aged two, disappeared while playing with other children in the compound of her sister, to whom she went to visit.The Commissioner of Police (CP), CP Wale Abass, provided SIB personnel with this material and instructed them to launch an intelligence-driven inquiry. The team got to work and began to examine the suspects’ phone conversations.

As a result, on March 8, 2023, two suspects—Mallam Sa’ad Ahmed Baba, age 57, of No. 12 Lagos Street in Cable Point, Asaba, and Halima Abubakar, age 25—were detained. The kidnapped child was also found at Issele-Asagba, where they had hidden him.

The inquiry is still going on.The DPO of Orerokpe received information that Ifeoma Sunday aka Coco, a notorious cultist who is suspected of terrorizing the Aghalokpe community and is also wanted for his alleged involvement in earlier reported cases of attempted murder, arson, and armed robbery, had been spotted in the neighborhood parading with a gun.

The DPO organized patrol teams, led them to the neighborhood where the culprit was detained, and a locally built, cut-to-size single-barrel weapon was recovered from him.
