Police arrest two brothers over the alleged murders of VON reporters

The Tudun Wada Police Station in Gusau Town, the capital of Zamfara State, is now holding two suspects for the alleged murder of Voice of Nigeria reporter Hamisu Danjigba.

The accused, Bilal and Mansur Haruna, are the younger brothers of the late Danjigba, Malam Haruna.

Before the event, they were both residing in the late Danjigba’s home in the Samaru neighborhood of Gusau.

Late Danjigba made a number of complaints about the disruptive behavior of the two suspects, who were his elder brother’s kids.

Many people believed that Danjigba was abducted by bandits when he was reported missing last Saturday.

Additionally, before declaring the final ransom on Friday, a text message from an unidentified sender demanded N1 million from his family.

The search by Danjigba’s family and friends for his whereabouts had been fruitless until Wednesday, when his lifeless body, which had been placed in a soakaway behind his home in Gusau’s Samaru neighborhood, began to rot and became completely exposed to the environment.

The late Danjigba was discovered in the soakaway with many slashes on his torso.
While the case was being investigated, security personnel detained two key individuals who were close to the late Danjigba’s family in connection with his horrible murder.

Nearby his home, hundreds of mourners gathered for a funeral prayer for the late Danjigba.
He was buried right away in accordance with Islamic law.

The Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has since sent its condolences to VON, the family of the deceased, and the state’s whole populace.
The union urged the security agencies to fully investigate the situation and prosecute those responsible for the heinous conduct.

Yazid Abubakar, the state police command’s spokesperson, pledged that a thorough investigation would be carried out into the incident in order to ensure that the offenders were brought to justice.
