The Jigawa State Police Command’s men have detained suspected armed robbers, thieves, fraudsters, and vandals in a number of locations. They have also recovered a locally made firearm, wires, and other stolen goods.
According to the commands’ spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, one of the incidents occurred on September 14 at around 11:00 hours, when a group of hunters from Dingaya village in Gwaram LGA detained Sani Garba of Unguwar Malam Fulani in Gwaram LGA with a sheep that was strongly suspected of having been stolen before turning him over to the police.
He said that a locally made pistol was found during a search of the suspect’s home.
He continued, “During questioning, the suspect disclosed that he purchased the weapon for N30,000 from one Usman’m’ of Nasarawa Egon LGA in Nasarawa State.
He said that he and Usman belonged to a group in Nasarawa State that specialized in armed robberies, motorbike thefts, and other atrocities.
