A suspected cultist, Lukman Shonubi, known as Tinny, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command. Tinny, believed to be a leader of the Eiye Confraternity, admitted to his involvement in the deaths of at least six individuals. His arrest followed an intelligence tip from the state’s So Safe Corps, indicating that he was causing a disturbance at an event to distract and rob unsuspecting victims.
Omolola Odutola, the police command’s spokesperson, explained that the police arrived in time to apprehend Tinny at the event. During interrogation, he confessed to not only the six killings but also various crimes, including robbing supermarkets and a woman at gunpoint. The stolen items included handbags, phones, an ATM card, a power bank, and around N300,000 in cash.
Upon searching his hideout, a locally made gun was discovered. The police are actively working to arrest Tinny’s gang members as part of their efforts to dismantle the criminal network.
