Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has turned himself in to the police following a declaration of being wanted by the Ogun State Police Command. Portable surrendered at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, on February 17 and is now being transported to Ogun State for further action.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development, stating, “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up.” The surrender follows Portable’s alleged violent confrontation with Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development officials during an enforcement exercise in Ota.
During the incident, Portable, allegedly armed and accompanied by nine thugs, attacked the officials, who sustained injuries before managing to escape. Nine accomplices were arrested, but Portable fled the scene until his recent surrender. Authorities are now pursuing the case through proper channels.
