Umar Namadi, who is the Governor Jigawa State, has advised Nigerians to pray for divine intervention amid economic hardship and not to resort to protest.
He said there are other means Nigerians could use to show their anger and not protesting.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governor said this on Monday, in a meeting with leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), in the state.
Namadi said while citizens have the right to express themselves through protest under a democratic dispensation, it will not solve the problems.
He has call for prayers and advised Nigerians to repent from all their sins. He said Nigerians must seek God’s mercy and call for his divine intervention.
Protesting alone will not provide the solutions; people should turn to God, repent, seek for forgiveness and divine intervention on the challenges.”
