The Presidency has dismissed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai as “disgruntled politicians.” This comes after Atiku announced a new coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party. The group also includes former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Kayode Fayemi, sparking talks of a stronger opposition.
Responding to the move, Presidential Adviser Bayo Onanuga said on 𝕏 that the coalition is made up of frustrated politicians acting out of self-interest. He insisted that Tinubu remains focused on solving Nigeria’s problems and making progress as he nears his midterm.
Onanuga described the opposition as “sore losers” who are only united by their dislike for Tinubu. He stressed that the President will not be distracted by their plans and will continue working toward a better Nigeria.
