[Current Date] – President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries on Monday. These appointments were approved last Friday after the individuals successfully navigated the Federal Civil Service’s rigorous selection process.
The swearing-in ceremony took place just before the commencement of this week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, with President Tinubu presiding over the proceedings.
The newly elevated Permanent Secretaries are Ndakayo-Aishetu Gogo, Adeoye Ayodeji, Rimi Abba, Bako Odoh, Omachi Omenka, Ahmed Umar, Watti Tinuke, and Ella Agbo.
As President Tinubu leads the FEC meeting, attendees include Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, and Chief of Staff to the President Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.
It’s noteworthy that this FEC gathering includes all ministers and selected senior presidential aides, a decision previously authorized by President Tinubu, highlighting the importance of their participation in the meeting. The inclusion of these new Permanent Secretaries underscores the commitment to reinforcing the administrative apparatus and ensuring efficient governance.
