President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Chris Alli, and the Nigerian Army following his passing on Sunday. The heartfelt sympathies were conveyed through a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
Major-General Alli served as the Chief of Army Staff from 1993 to 1994 before retiring from service. President Tinubu described his demise as a painful loss and commended Alli for his faithful service to the country. The President extended his condolences to the Alli family and the entire Nigerian Army, expressing deep sorrow over the passing of the respected former military leader.
In his statement, President Tinubu said, “I condole with the Alli family and the Nigerian Army over the sad loss of the former Chief of Army Staff. He served his country with honour and retired meritoriously. May the Almighty God rest his soul and grant his family the fortitude to bear the huge void.”
Major-General Chris Alli held significant roles in the Nigerian Army, including Director of Military Intelligence, and was widely respected for his contributions to the nation’s defense.
