ABUJA (Findwhosabi) – President Bola Tinubu is set to swear in three additional ministers into his cabinet, as confirmed by a senior official in the Presidency. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place in the Council Chamber of the State House before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
This will mark the second FEC meeting since President Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29, following a 48-day hiatus. The Council has not convened since its inaugural meeting on August 28, during which 45 ministers were sworn in and inaugurated.
The three new ministers set to be sworn in are Jamila Bio, Ayodele Olawande, and Balarabe Lawal, all from Kaduna State. Jamila Bio and Ayodele Olawande are expected to take up positions as the Minister of Youth and the Minister of State for Youth, respectively.
Balarabe Lawal is filling the position previously intended for former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, whose ministerial nomination was rejected by the Senate. Balarabe Lawal served as Secretary to the Kaduna State Government during El-Rufai’s administration.
The swearing-in ceremony will precede the FEC meeting, with the oaths of office being administered to the new ministers. The Federal Executive Council is a crucial body responsible for formulating policies, executing government projects, and supporting the President in discharging his executive functions, as defined by Article 144 (5) of the 1999 Constitution.
