As Nigeria prepares for a nationwide protest on October 1, 2024, the organizers of the #EndBadGovernance movement have issued a 17-point ultimatum to the Federal Government. At the forefront of these demands is the immediate and unconditional release of all detained protesters, along with the unfreezing of their assets and compensation for the distress they endured during peaceful demonstrations.
Prominent activist Omoyele Sowore leads the movement, which is also calling for the removal and prosecution of government officials implicated in the suppression of protests and human rights violations. A central demand is the scrapping of the 1999 Constitution, with a call for its replacement by a new, people-driven constitution that reflects the will of the populace.

The movement’s that led the Protesters demands extend to comprehensive police reforms, accountability for abuses of power, and significant action on governance, corruption, and economic challenges. Among these demands are:
- A minimum wage of no less than ₦250,000 monthly for Nigerian workers.
- Substantial investment in education, with grants provided to students instead of loans, and a commitment to free and compulsory education for children across Nigeria.
- The unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the demilitarization of the South-East, along with the release and compensation of all #ENDSARS and political detainees.
These demands reflect the growing frustration and discontent among Nigerians, as they seek meaningful change and accountability from their government.
