Rapper Drake has made an announcement regarding his music career, stating that he will be taking a break to prioritize his health. The multi-Grammy winner revealed that he has been dealing with stomach issues for an extended period. He shared this news shortly after the release of his new album, “For All The Dogs,” during an episode of his radio show.
Drake emphasized that he won’t be creating music for some time, underscoring the importance of his health. He acknowledged postponing several upcoming performances following his decision.
The Hotline Bling rapper expressed his health concerns, stating, “Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach.” He mentioned that he would be taking a significant break from the studio, suggesting it might be around a year or possibly longer.
Drake later posted a clip from his radio program on Instagram, informing his massive following that he will return when the time is right. Concerts scheduled in Toronto, his hometown, for Friday and Saturday night were still on the agenda, but shows afterward were postponed, according to his website’s tour section.
Several musicians have recently taken breaks or canceled tour dates due to health issues, including Madonna and Bruce Springsteen due to a serious bacterial infection and peptic ulcer respectively.
