Ruben Amorim has expressed that Marcus Rashford is still not meeting his expectations, as the forward was excluded from Manchester United’s squad for the fourth consecutive match.
The 27-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since substituted early in the second half during their Europa League comeback victory over Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
Following that match, Rashford was left out of the squad for Manchester City clash, during which he declared he was ‘ready for a new challenge’. He was subsequently absent for the defeats against Tottenham and Bournemouth.
United’s Boxing Day loss to the Wolves extended their losing streak to three games,and Amorim hinted that he expects more from the sidelined England international.
“It’s always the same reason it’s going to be,” the United head coach said after the 2-0 loss at Molineux.
“We have to be the same professionals and I have to be the same guy, winning or losing. Losing, I have to be stronger, so I will continue with my idea until the end.”
When asked whether Rashford had shown any improvement since his exclusion, Amorim told Amazon Prime, “If he’s not here, you can make your mind up.”
