Founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike, has criticized suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for allegedly failing to honor his agreement with his political benefactor, Nyesom Wike. In a video message on Thursday, Uwazuruike stressed the importance of keeping agreements, stating that even among thieves, loyalty matters.
He argued that the political crisis in Rivers could have been avoided if commitments were upheld. Uwazuruike pointed out that Fubara ignored advice from former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, and walked into unnecessary conflict. He further emphasized that Wike should not be singled out as the villain, asserting that corruption is widespread among Nigerian governors.
Uwazuruike dismissed claims that Fubara was solely elected by the people, insisting that political godfathers play a decisive role in governance. He warned that the ongoing crisis could lead to unnecessary bloodshed, urging leaders to honor their political pacts. According to him, the situation is a distraction to the South-East and South-South regions, and the focus should be on the bigger picture rather than just blaming Wike.
