The Rivers State Police Command reported that its agents had detained a 42-year-old man who goes by the name Kolowale for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old female house help on Ejekwu Street, Eneka, in the state’s Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The mother-of-three suspect was detained on Monday as a result of a complaint from worried neighbors who the teenage girl reportedly rushed to after she was allegedly defiled. The suspect is a father of three.
The guy, a rig worker, allegedly had been sleeping with the girl whenever he was in town, a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity claimed. His wife was unaware of this.
The girl has been living with the man and his wife, who are both married and have three children. He works on rigs and is typically absent. After his leave, he returns to his job and works there for weeks.When he is in town and his wife is not there, he typically gets his way with his 13-year-old housekeeper. They have been hosting the girl for a while.
“This time, when he got home from work, he tried to get her to sleep with him, but she declined. He was rebuffed by her, and she fled the compound after telling some neighbors what had happened.
She continued by saying that the girl was taken to the State Ministry of Justice, where complaints were made by the worried neighbors.
“At the police headquarters on Moscow Road, the Human Rights Desk received reports from the Ministry of Justice. The cops have been keeping an eye on the man since they got the report.
The insider continued, “They (police) moved in and nabbed him after getting word that he returned on Sunday.
Grace Iringe-Koko, a spokeswoman for the state police command, confirmed the event and the man’s arrest when contacted, adding that the investigation was underway.
