Hope Nwala, a woman from Rivers, is wanted for reportedly bathing her husband, Ekelediri Nwankwo Nwala in hot groundnut oil after a small argument.
The incident took place in the Okehi community in Rivers State’s Etche Local Government Area.
According to reports, Mrs. Hope Nwala doused her sleeping husband in hot peanut oil.
It was learned that the couple had been fighting within their home before the fatal event.
The victim, Mr. Nwankwo, who is currently fighting for his life, claimed that his wife refused to let his wife’s younger sister leave their home because she was wearing inappropriate clothing.
He continued by saying that his wife had attacked him and given him a hot oil bath while he was asleep.
“I had requested that my wife’s younger sister leave the house because of the way she has started dressing and the way she uses my bed even when I am present; no young man will put up with such behavior, but my wife has refused.
“I also spotted my wife alone with a tall black man in the shop I rented for her; he wasn’t there on business, but he followed my wife and sister around. With all of this, I gave her younger sister a ride for 2,000 naira so she could go home, so that I can genuinely comprehend what is happening in my home, but when my wife became irritated, she struck me with a harmer after using boiled groundnut oil on me while I was in bed trying to sleep, the man stated.
At the time of publication, the State Police Command has not yet commented on the incident, but from what we’ve learned, it has been reported to the Okehi Divisional Police Headquarters in Etche.
