Former Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney recently praised the qualities of ex-Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, labeling him as the epitome of a perfect striker.
Rooney emphasized that Drogba’s attributes would command a significant transfer fee in today’s football landscape, indicating the Ivorian’s enduring value in the current era of inflated finances.

In reflecting on Drogba’s playing style, Rooney highlighted the Ivorian’s exceptional versatility, noting his blend of pace, power, and proficiency with both feet and headers.
Wayne also compared Drogba favorably to contemporary strikers like Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, underscoring the scarcity of players with Drogba’s skill set in modern football.

“Drogba was a nightmare for defenders and when you talk about number nines now and you look at Haaland, probably the best two is Haaland and Kane, or the only two,” Rooney remarked.

“They are so difficult to find now and I think Drogba is the perfect number nine. He had pace, power, could score with both feet, could head it, free-kicks. “If Drogba was around now he’d be worth a lot of money.”
