Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri, has voiced her criticism of the detailed interview conducted by former presidential media aide, Reno Omokri, with the controversial Nigerian singer, Naira Marley. The interview centered on the circumstances surrounding the death of Naira Marley’s late former signee, Mohbad.
During the interview, Naira Marley shared a video of his last conversation with Mohbad, revealing that the deceased had been struggling with thoughts of suicide. He repeatedly asserted that he had no direct or indirect involvement in Mohbad’s death. He emphasized that he was out of the country when the tragic incident occurred and that they were still on good terms before the incident. Naira Marley also expressed his willingness to make himself available for investigation if the police could guarantee his safety.
In response, Ruth Kadiri took to her Instagram page to express her discontent. She suggested that if Nigeria had effective laws, such sensitive issues and the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death would not be discussed on social media. She also expressed her hope that the challenging circumstances faced in Nigeria would not befall anyone.
Her Instagram post read, “By their fruits, you shall know them! If Nigeria had laws would we even be on social media discussing who is right and who is wrong? Trying to get justice from the core of our existence??? Like I always say! May Nigeria not happen to you!. Rest well Mohbad.”
