Salihu Lukman, a former National Vice Chairman for the North-West of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has voiced his concerns about the government’s spending habits under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. In a statement titled “#EndBadGovernance Campaign: What Next?”, released on Sunday, Lukman criticized what he described as the administration’s “roller coaster of aggrandized spendings,” which he believes is occurring despite widespread hunger and poverty across Nigeria.
Salihu Lukman argued that this misalignment of priorities is contributing to the current volatile situation in the country. He called on all committed democrats to rise to the challenge of mobilizing citizens in a constructive manner to reform Nigeria’s democratic structures.
He also urged opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, along with sidelined APC leaders such as Yemi Osinbajo and Rotimi Amaechi, to step forward and lead the charge in rescuing Nigeria. Lukman emphasized the need for a functional political party that can address the country’s challenges, asserting that the existing major parties—APC, PDP, LP, and NNPP—are not equipped to do so.
