Senate Panel Recommends 6-Month Suspension for Natasha

The Senate Committee on Ethics has proposed a six-month suspension for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The committee also recommended that her salary and security details be withdrawn for the duration of the suspension.

According to the panel, Natasha must tender an apology to the Senate for what it described as an act of disrespect. This recommendation follows weeks of controversy surrounding the senator’s petition against Akpabio, which was initially dismissed due to procedural errors before being resubmitted with her constituents’ backing.

With this development, all eyes are now on the Senate’s final decision, as the case continues to stir debates within and beyond the legislative chambers.
