Setting Realistic Goals As Couples

A lot of people have different ideas about what makes a great couple. They get these ideas from religion, social media, or what they learned when they were young. But it’s tough to figure out what makes a good partner. Sometimes, the idea of “couple goals” on the internet doesn’t show what real couples are like.

So, what are these “couple goals” anyway? Well, they’re the things you want in a serious relationship. They’re what you aim for.

But often, what you see online as “couple goals” isn’t what a real and healthy couple wants. It’s more like a show for everyone else.

So, do you really need relationship goals? Imagine if you were going on a long road trip back in 1970. Would you just hop in your car and hope to get to your destination without a map or a plan? Probably not.

In the same way, having goals in your relationship is like having a map for your journey together. It helps you stay on the right path. If you don’t have any goals, you and your partner might not know what to aim for, and that’s not good for a healthy relationship.

Setting goals as a couple can be a good thing. You don’t have to, but people who do tend to be happier. It’s not always about writing things down or having big discussions. Sometimes, it’s just understanding each other without words. If you don’t agree on where you’re going in your relationship, it won’t go very far.

Social media often shows us what we wish our relationships were like. But it’s not real. Those cute pictures and extravagant vacations might look great, but they don’t make a happy couple. Real couple goals are about building a healthy and happy relationship, not just looking good on the outside.

So, here are some realistic relationship goals to aim for:

  • Being honest with each other, even when it’s tough.
  • Trusting each other completely.
  • Talking openly about anything.
  • Being your true selves around each other.
  • Caring about each other’s safety.
  • Being okay with spending time apart.
  • Having meaningful conversations.
  • Being best friends.
  • Always learning and growing together.
  • Talking about money openly.
  • Trying new things together.
  • Knowing each other’s love languages.
  • Having chemistry and intimacy.
  • Supporting each other’s dreams.
  • Working as a team.
  • Caring for each other’s families.
  • Making each other’s dreams come true.
  • Respecting each other’s promises.
  • Loving each other even at your worst.
  • Being comfortable with each other’s messy moments.
  • Wearing matching pajamas and having fun.
  • Making fun of each other in a playful way.
  • Embracing your inner nerds together.
  • Being comfortable enough to hang out naked.
  • Bingeing on junk food without judgment.
  • Exploring the world together.
  • Creating memories in new places.
  • Having a plan for your relationship journey.
