Severe Beatings in Detention: Isese’s Tani Olohun Struggles to Stand

An update regarding Isese activist Adegbola Abdulazeez, also known as Tani Olohun, who was arrested and remanded in a correctional facility in Ilorin, Kwara State, has emerged.

Abdulazeez was detained for allegedly insulting the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and other offenses.

One of the lawyers representing Abdulazeez, Adedamola Solesi, revealed that the Isese activist was severely beaten in jail, to the point where he could barely walk or stand during his court appearance.

Addressing a group of Isese adherents after a court hearing in Ilorin, Solesi reassured them that Tani Olohun would regain his freedom. He mentioned that they had filed a preliminary objection arguing that Abdulazeez should not be arrested for one offense and tried in two different courts.
