A tragic incident occurred in Samaru, Zaria, where a teenager, Ismail Mohammed, was allegedly shot dead by a soldier on Tuesday. According to his father, Malam Mohammed, soldiers were scaring people away and followed his son to their house, where they shot him through the door.
The Nigerian Army has stated that it will investigate the death. Major General MLD Saraso, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 1 Division, visited the family and promised a thorough investigation, urging community members with evidence to come forward.
Ismail’s mother, Zainab Sani, recounted that the shooting happened around 9:00 a.m. as her son was playing outside their home.
