Soludo Foresees APGA Victory in Imo’s 2023 Election

Awka, Anambra State – The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo, has expressed strong confidence that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will regain control of Imo State in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 11, 2023.

Governor Soludo made this assertion during a meeting at the Anambra State Government House in Awka, where he received the governorship candidate of APGA in Imo State, Tony Ejiogu.

In his statement, Governor Soludo emphasized the historical significance of Imo State to APGA, describing it as a stronghold of the party with deep-rooted ties to its founding fathers. He stated, “Imo is APGA, and APGA is Imo. We have been through trials and tribulations in the past, yet we remained strong as a party. It’s time to reclaim Imo through our persistence and consistency.”

Governor Soludo highlighted APGA’s commitment to true federalism and its dedication to moving the nation forward through a defined mandate, core values, framework, and structure.

He also mentioned that defeating an incumbent in Imo State was an achievable goal, given the party’s past electoral successes in the state. He commended the party’s governorship candidate, Tony Ejiogu, as a credible candidate who embodied APGA’s commitment to the development and progress of Imo State.

During the gathering, other governorship candidates of APGA, including Idoko Kingsley Ilonah from Kogi and Hon. Subiri Waibodei from Bayelsa state, were welcomed by Governor Soludo. The Governor reiterated that APGA was the only party in Nigeria that genuinely cared about improving the lives of its citizens.

The national chairman of APGA, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in Imo State. He praised the transparency of the party’s candidate selection process and encouraged the candidates to uphold the party’s principles.

Tony Ejiogu, the governorship candidate for Imo State, expressed gratitude to the party leadership for providing a platform for individuals with proven track records to participate in governance. He promised to be a trustworthy representative of the people and solicited the support of the party hierarchy to secure victory in Imo State.
